-Most remote island in the world that is inhabited. Closest inhabited island is 1500 miles away, Tahiti is 2000 miles away, mainland Chili is 2500 miles away
-All Moai statues were knocked over in battles between different families on the island, resoration of the statues began in 1960.
-The island is 63 square miles and has a population of 3,791, of which 90% live in the capital city, Hanga Roa

-The canal consists of 2 seperate sets of locks that each feed from the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean to Lake Gatun.
-The average price to go through the canal is $60,000 and can run up to $260,000, based on the weight of the ship.
